BOOKING EDMONTON DRUM GROUPS

ISOKAN AFRIKA!

Isọkan Afrika! (pronounced Eeshōkon Afreeka!) in Yoruba language, meaning “Africa United”. With over 2600 ethnic groups, each with its own language, religion, ceremonies and way of life in 52 independent countries, there is much to be studied and learned about the diversity and rich heritage of the African people.

Dance ceremonies and celebrations have always been an important part of marking the experiences of life (birth, initiations into adulthood, marriage and death), religious rituals, healing (combating disease and death) and also just for entertainment. http://isokanafrika.com/booking_us.htm

LOMANI MUNDI

Established in 2011, we are a peer-lead women’s world percussion group. Drawn together by our love of world music and the call of the drum, we perform African, Afro-Cuban, Middle Eastern, Irish, and original pieces using djembes, djundjuns, kpanlogos, bodhrans, congas, bongos, doumbeks, and small percussion instruments. https://www.facebook.com/LomaniMundi/info

“It was amazing to watch Lucas facilitate each circle with the power of his drum. His high, positive energy
and skills in using the drum to lead each group made the experience enjoyable for each participant.”
~ Kerri Kenwell, Music Teacher, Graminia School
